Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving morning I went to Urgent Care and was diagnosed with Sinus infection and bronchitis. Despite this set back we went onto have a great weekend.

Just a few of the things I am thankful for

* Having a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving at Uncle Don and Aunt Rose's house

*Only had to make stuffing to take to Thanksgiving dinner

* Got to have dinner with the Smith Family the day after. Yeah for Aunt Lari's rolls. We missed our tradition of spending Thanksgiving with them.

*Ron and Boys did black friday :)

*Attended my nephew Sam's baptism!!

*Had Mexican hotdogs with cousin Cliff then hit the mall!

*Got to attend Becca's reception and see all of my Johnson relatives!

*Visited with the Ed Whettens over at Paul and Sally's........lots of laughs!

*Went to Lane's baby blessing. What a cutie!

Loved, Loved, Loved being with so many friends and family this weekend

Most of all I liked doing these things in my new car....ok it is a 2003 but it is new to me! Loving the room!

Now onto Christmas :/

Little Alexis

I thought I was done with little kids running around our house with exception of an occasional visits from Julie's kids. But Ron's sister has temporary guardianship of this little cutie and needed someone to help take care of her. I hesitated at first but after spending time with this cutie I am glad to be a part of her life.

Miss ALEXIS

She is the little sister Becka never wanted! Alexis gets so excited to pick her up from school. Every now and then I can get Becka to babysit her.

Alexis loves my preschool children. She greets them in the mornings with a big hug. When the kids line up with their backpacks Alexis grabs her diaper bag and lines up with them. She is just too cute!

Anyone she meets falls in love with her. Nemo is her bestest friend now! He has to see her everyday after school. She loves the attention she gets form all the big kids.

She gets whatever she wants from Uncle Ron.

Taking a ride with Big Maka.

She insists on hugs from Uncle Ron before he leaves for work. He nicknamed her Ms. Busy Body because she is constrantly on the go looking for something to get into.

She is seriously one of the most pleasant children I have ever been around. Her happy little spirit makes it very easy to care for her.

I would like to be able to say I am her favorite member of our family but that would be a lie. Kado is her favorite by far. Playing with Kado is her favorite thing to do. They are so happy to see each other. Kado just lets her do whatever she wants to him.
They watch Tv together.
Wrestle around together.
She plays peek-a-boo with him.

And gives him lots and lots of hugs.

She calls him BUBBA!!

Caring for this bundle of energy is exhausting. But I am so glad my family can be a part of making her life safer and happier. Her mom is challenging my sis-inlaw to get custody back so we will probably loose her soon. It makes me sad to think of it. We will make the most of the time we have with her.

Red's Blog

Somehow the SADS Foundation found one of the posts I did about Red being assistant coach for the flag football team. They wish to feature Red in their newsletter and website. So I made a blog that they could put a link to. Hopefully Red's experiences while dealing with Long QT will benefit someone else.

Shout Out to my boy Xavier

This is the last of my August birthday shout outs!!

Xavier Jaron was born on August 25, 1994. He was our first boy! It seems like just yesterday that Xavier was this chubby little baby nicknamed CHIEF.

Gramps loved this little guys personality.

There is only about 15 months between the two boys so growing up they were always close to each other.

As time has gone by they still manage to be good friends. And even though Xavier gets annoyed by his little brother at times he tries to be a good example. As Xavier would say " he keeps him in check".

Xavier is often confused for being the oldest because he is so big. He recently told one of our friends that he was turning 18 and he totally believed him.

I love that Xavier is such a good friend to younger children. This little boy at church just loves him. Good to know Xavier is not too cool to make time for his fans. LOL

Xavier is Jo Jo's best bud. He wants to do whatever Xavier is doing. It is cute to see them together.

Xavier is a smart boy. He is a sophmore in school but takes junior math. Becka is lucky to get private tutoring from her little brother.

And if you know Xavier then you know he is just way to cool. Well that is what he portrays but he is a funny, caring and helpful guy!

When I say funny I mean funny. He has us cracking up all the time. This picture was taken by his sister in Sunday school class. Xavier was being funny by sitting like this. They call it the Obama pose. :)

Then there was the family picture that Xavier felt he had to wear a bow tie with a T-shirt in. Oh then there was the time he mooned grandma but I wont post a picture of that. LOL

Then he put these glasses on right before pulling up to church and teased he would wear them in.

Couldn't imagine our family without you. Love You!

Becka's Talk on Girls Camp

Becka was asked to give a talk on her experience at girls camp. She spoke about her grandpa who many of you know. It touched me and I wanted to share it with you.

On the last night the girls made personal flags with a symbol on it that represented them. In her talk she said " I chose to draw a picture of tools in remembrance of my grandpa who passed away 7 years ago. The tools not only symbolize the work he did on this earth but also the work I must do to be with him again. He and my sister are waiting for me along with my Heavenly father and I DON’T want to let them down. I have a lot of work ahead of me. I know that it won’t be easy to obtain this goal but having the knowledge that I am a Royal daughter of God gives me hope and strength" She continued talking about being a royal daughter of God. As you can imagine tears filled my eyes as she spoke.

Grandpa and Felicia are always on the minds of our family. They are truly missed. It is wonderful to know that some of the work that my dad did while here on earth has physically and spiritually helped my kids to be who they are today. Those of you who have had teenagers know how hard it is to get them to talk and open up at times so to hear her express herself on this topic was a real treat.
